EDIT Jan 13: Changed the colors to make the hair the right color. It's a dull red, not a red purple (which is what it looked like before.)
The woman stared at her child. Not now. Not like this, this wasn't... this wasn't what was supposed to happen.
The grand sorcerer stood in front of her.
He had already taken Jirou away. Her friends, her comrades, her teachers, they were all here. All in this village. Risking their lives for their important people, like how she had been risking herself for her family.
She could barely think anymore. Her hands shook and wouldn't stop, damn it, damn it all.
He had already killed Chinatsu. Her sister's body still lied where she had covered her shaking husband, who had fled. Katsumi knew he would never return to this place. He was a coward.
Her husband lay dead on the dirt somewhere safe, about a half mile from here thanks to Masaaki. And her son...the only one left, who she had left.... kneeling over him, the toddler must be so confused, why wasn't daddy getting up? Why was mommy crying? And where had Onii-san gone?
She knew what she had to do. It was all... it was all there was left to do.
Her final plan of action.
The woman, in one fluid movement, pulled water from herself as she flung herself at the man in a flurry of water and razor sharp winds, blue energy twisting around the two of them as she dragged the man to the grave with her. She had been forced to use that final technique, the one she prayed with all her heart she would never be forced to use.
'... This was not... how I wanted it to end...' her thoughts were flurried. She was sent flying backwards into the ruins of the brick wall around their home's courtyard. She knew she had succeeded.
'... I always told myself...a mother's role is to stand by her child's side, and to... protect that precious child. I really am... a terrible mother, one who could only do one of those things in the end, and only protect one of those treasured children..' She opened her eyes for the last time, an image of her child's pained face. for a second, as it faded, she swore she saw a smiling young man looking back at her. She felt as though her thoughts could reach him somehow.
"Chinatsu...Sadao... Jirou... I couldn't protect you. All of that work, and I am still so weak..." She gasped out.
Haru...her precious son... He was so young. She hoped, trying to reach him, that someday, he would be strong enough to protect the people precious to him, something she couldn't complete, something she had failed to do, only able to protect one..
As a final tear escaped her amber eyes, a whisper escaped her bloodied mouth.
"I'm sorry... Haru..."
LOL YEA SHE'S DEAD
sorry for all the feels guys
but I just love trolling you peeps
This is sort of a scene from my manga, it's the death of Haru's mother A.K.A the fucking saddest part of the series
It's better in manga form to be honest
Spolier alert because... well it's from like, someday, when this is published, if any of you are actually planning to read it, you'll be like... "FUUUU I ALREADY KNOW HIS MOM IS FUCKFUCKFUCKITYFUCK" and then you won't read it
well ya probably will read anyways because it's pretty cool.
BTW her hair is actually red, but the reddish overlay and crap made it look pink
no it has nothing to do with that last pic
is Haru's mum
He has a freaking sob story or some shit
it's real complicated
